Canoe Trailer
A canoe trailer is one the easiest ways to transport canoes and kayaks to the river, lake or sea. The alternative is to attach them to the top of the vehicle, which is not an option on many vehicles. Even a small car can tow these lightweight trailers. They decrease drag over roof mounted canoes which means better fuel efficiency for the vehicle.
There are many different sizes and configurations for canoe trailers. They can hold anywhere from one to 24 canoes or kayaks depending on the model, size and design of the trailer. Even flatbed trailers can easily be converted to a good canoe trailer with a few pieces of metal or a pre-fabricated kit. They are simple to install requiring only a few turns of a wrench.
A canoe trailer securely attaches the boats to the vehicle so the driver can be confident that they will be there when they arrive at the body of water. Depending on the style of trailer other items can often be attached as well, such as coolers, life jackets and extra paddles. Most have a locking mechanism as well to protect the boats when refilling or when the owner is away from the vehicle.
